The single ferrule does two jobs at once. It bites the tube to hold it against pull-out, and it seals against the fitting body for a gas-tight metal-to-metal joint you can break and remake during a turnaround. Machined from 316 stainless steel, the body stands up to the wet, chlorinated and chemical service that eats plated fittings alive in a Gulf Coast plant.
