Alloy 600 Swagelok Tube Fitting, Union, 3/16 in. Tube OD

Alloy 600 is what a drawing calls for when the service would destroy 316 stainless. The Swagelok INC-300-6 union joins two 3/16 in. tube runs in Inconel alloy 600, with bar stock to ASTM B166 and forgings to ASTM B564.

Alloy 600 holds up in high-temperature service and resists chloride stress corrosion cracking, which is why it gets written into specs for caustic, steam and hot halide environments. When your spec names Alloy 600, a cheaper substitute is not a saving, it is a failure scheduled for later.
